SPRINGFIELD - The funeral will be held Jan. 22 for Chester Tuttle of Springfield, who died Jan. 18 of age-related causes. He was 85.
He was born April 2, 1912 in Alfalfa, Wash., to Benjamin and Mable Tuttle. He married Laredo Wonser in Klamath Falls on Feb. 11, 1934. He had lived in Springfield since 1948.
Tuttle was a chief maintenance clerk at Weyerhaeuser Co. for 43 years, working in Springfield and Longview, Wash. He was a member of the South Hills Assembly of God in Eugene. His interests included gardening, watching sports on televison and traveling to Arizona.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Tom of Springfield; a daughter, Glenda Tuttle of Springfield; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Buell Chapel in Springfield. Thursday's service will be at the New Life Center in Springfield. Burial will be at Springfield Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the South Hills Assembly of God or New Life Center. Buell Chapel in Springfield is in charge of arrangements.
