" DIED MOFFITT---In Sonora township, April 20th, 1881. Mrs. Flora Moffitt, wife of T. V. Moffitt, aged 33 years. The deceased was well known to our citizens having been reared in this city; the daughter of Jno. Bauer Esq. She was one of the very few in whose heart there abode no evil. She made her life one of devotion to to her family, while the noble and generous elements of her soul was reflected upon all with whom she became acquainted in such a genial, sympathetic manner that none knew her but to respect her for the nobleness of character which she possessed, and ever manifested in the purest sincerity. Although it was evident that she deemed her mission on earth to be for good alone, the messenger of death, remorseless and cruel as he may seem, nevertheless reached forth as if by lot her turn had come, and severed the mortal tie, to the deep sorrow of the entire community. Besides her husband, Mrs. Moffitt leaves five small children, the youngest but a few days old. The funeral took place from the Catholic church in this city, of which she was a member, on last Saturday, the remains being followed to the cemetery by a large procession of sympathizing friends."
