She was born on May 19, 1937 in Erda, Utah, the daughter of Walter and Bernettie Winn Lauritzen.
Carol married Everette Gene Carter "Buddy" on December 5, 1955 in Tooele, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Los Angeles Temple on December 4, 1971. Buddy preceded her in death on October 17, 1992.
While her husband was serving in the Air Force they lived in England, Japan, Arizona, California and Tennessee. Following his retirement they moved to Layton in 1974.
She was a devout member of the LDS Church and served a mission at the Family History Library for four years. She enjoyed cross stitching, crossword puzzles, family history and was an avid reader. Carol had a wonderful smile and loved being with her family.
Surviving are her children, Debra Jo "Debbie" Webster-Wood, (Scott), Sandy; Barbara Sue Cooley, (Alan), Ashburn, VA; David Gene Carter, Layton; Richard Alan Carter, (Malinda), Layton; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Anona Landry, Layton; and Lorraine Frazier, Bountiful; three sisters-in-law, Sissy, Bea and Wilma. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters, one brother and one sister-in-law.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to services at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist's Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road
