John A. Glaser, 88, of Bethany Home, formerly of 2770 Brunswick St., died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010, at Bethany Home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 13, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, where military rites will be accorded by the Dubuque American Legion Post 6. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, at Siegert-Casper Colonial Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 390 N. Grandview Ave. Friends also may call from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Friday at the church.
He was born on March 23, 1922, in Dubuque, son of Clarence and Margaret (Gukeisen) Glaser. He married Martha Brendel on Aug. 4, 1951, in Galena, Ill.; she preceded him in death on Jan. 5, 2001.
John served in the Army during World War II.
He worked as a bus driver for Keyline for 24 years before his retirement.
John was a member of the Masonic Lodge, American Legion and St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
Surviving are a sister-in-law, Rosemary McCarron Glaser; a niece, Cindy (Michael) Kuhno; a nephew, Andy Glaser, all of Reading, Pa.; and several cousins.
He also was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Richard Glaser.
