They were married in Barnsley, in 1917.
He died on 11th February 1944, on board Wellington Bomber X3215 from 21 Operational Training Unit, which took off from RAF Moreton-in-Marsh on a non-operational bullseye exercise. An engine cut out on take off and the aircraft crashed striking a large tree near Black Downs near Stretton-on-fosse. He was 23.
