Pfc. R. E. Fleming, Pacific Veteran, Dies On Luzon
Pfc. Robert Edward Fleming, 27, died of injuries received on May 12, official word from the War department today notified his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Corbett Fleming, 172 Tinker Ave., Painesville. No details were given. Pfc. Fleming, who had been overseas three of his four years in the Army, had accumulated enough points to be released from service. He was born in Indianapolis and attended Painesville schools. He trained at Camp Shelby, Miss., Indiantown Gap, Pa., and was a member of Painesville Church of Christ. Surviving with the parents are a brother, Corbett, Jr., sisters, Mrs. Eleanor Ponzi and Mrs. Marion Ferguson, all of Painesville.
