Husband of Lena Jane Fink Wetherell who resided in Gaithersburg, Maryland during the war.

Thomas served as a Chief Pharmacist's Mate, USS Langley (CV-1), U.S. Navy during World War II.

He resided in California prior to the war.

He was declared "Missing In Action" when the U.S.S. Pecos was sunk by a Japanese air attack from Soryu during the war. He was a survivor of the sinking of the Langley and picked up by the Pecos. He was awarded a Purple Heart.
