Son of Rudolph R. & Ramona Preciado who resided in San Pedro, California.

Rudolph served as a Staff Sergeant & Gunner on B-24J "Blondes Away" #42-110006, 64th Bomber Squadron, 43rd Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Los Angeles County, California prior to the war.

B-24J #42-110006 took off from Mokmer Airfield (APO 920), Biak Numfor Regency, Papua Province Indonesia on a bombing mission over Boela, Maluku Province, Moluccas Islands, Indonesia.

While over the target there was an explosion of an unknown origin in the bomb bay area. Two of the B-24's engines quickly caught fire and soon the entire B-24 was on fire and crashed in the Boela Bay.

One crew member was able to bailout, 2nd Lt. Bischoff. However he was captured by the Japanese and executed the next day.

Rudolph was declared "Missing In Action" in this crash during the war.

He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
