Husband of Anita R. Ofsa who resided in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Harry served as a Staff Sergeant & Engineer / Gunner on B-25 #43-36201, 405th Bomber Squadron, 38th Bomber Group, Medium, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Los Angeles County, California prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on April 17, 1943 in Los Angeles, California. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Driver and also as Single, with dependents.

He was married sometime after his enlistment.

B-25 #43-36201 took off, with a crew of 6 and other B-25's, from Mangaldan Airstrip, Philippines on a strike mission against 3 Japanese destroyers south of Formosa. While over their target they either hit the mast of one of the destroyers and crashed into the sea or possibly they were hit by anti-aircraft fire and crashed into the sea near a Japanese Destroyer. The entire crew was lost.

Harry was declared "Missing In Action" on this mission during the war.

He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
