Henry served as a Sergeant & Gunner on B-24M #44-50659, 320th Bomber Squadron, 90th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Erie County, New York prior to the war.

B-24M #44-50659 took off from Mindora, Philippines on a search mission to Lower Indo-China. Due to extremely bad weather they became lost on their return trip to Mindora. Once the fuel was almost gone the pilot, 1st Lt. Mervin E. Sheriff, instructed the crew to bailout which they all did successfully.

The B-24 crashed into the sea near San Narcisco, Philippines.

Henry was declared "Missing In Action" on this mission during the war.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Henry also has a "Cenotaph" in the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Buffalo, New York with his parents.
