Born in Schmallenberg, Westphalia, Germany, Theresa was the daughter of Peter Dick, a linen weaver, and Theresa Heimes. Following Peter's death, Theresa came to America with her mother, two sisters, and brother in 1881. Like many Westphalian immigrants, they settled in Webster, NY. Theresa married Frank Grundman two years later in 1883. They had three children: Frederick, Marie, and Henry. She died of a cerebral hemorrhage at the age of 70.
