Ralph served as a First Lieutenant and pilot in a B-24J-1-FO (#42-50366) with the 564th Bomber Squadron, 389th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided at 652 Magee Avenue, Rochester, Monroe County, New York prior to the war. He enlisted in the Army on February 1, 1943 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He was noted as being employed as a Machinist and also as Divorced, with dependents.

He was "Killed In Action" over Germany when his plane was shot down by German Fighter planes during the war. He was awarded an Air Medal with a Oak Leaf Cluster and a Purple Heart.
