Stanley Hawkins Killed In France
Staff Sergeant Stanley Hawkins, 22, Coopers, has been killed in action in France according to a telegram received today from the War Department by his wife, the former Miss Shirley Cole, of Coopers. The telegram stated that Sgt. Hawkins was killed on November 8 in France. He was in the infantry.

Sgt. and Mrs. Hawkins were married on May 2 of this year and he went overseas in August. He has been in the service for three years.

A former Corning Glass Works employe Sgt. Hawkins is the son of Mrs. Ira Hawkins, Ferenbaugh, born in Bradford and attended Painted Post High School. He is survived by his widow, his parents, three sisters and four brothers.
