Son of Zeddie Ross and Annie Butler Ross.

Stewart, who resided in Claymont, Delaware, served as a Private First Class with Infantry, U.S. Army during World War II.

He enlisted in the Army on August 24, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was noted as being employed as a Farm Hand and also as being Married.

He was "Killed In Action" in France during the war.

He had served in the Army for eleven months and was decorated with a Purple Heart.
