Entered service February 21, 1918, Lansing, Mich., where he was employed. Sent to Camp Dodge, la.; assigned to Company A, 47th Infantry. Embarked from Camp Mills, May 10, 1918. Died August 2, 1918, Evacuation Hospital No. 6, from wounds received in action. Buried in American Cemetery No. 361. Cheirry, Aisne, France.
