Son of George Henry and Sarah Ann (nee Withers) Osmond of Woodford, Queensland. A Cream Tester prior to enlisting in the Australian Imperial Force on 30 November 1915. He embarked as a Private from Sydney with D Company for overseas on 5 June 1916 aboard HMAT "Borda" (A30). He was promoted to Temporary Corporal. He was killed in action, aged 21 years.
