Casualty of the Great War and sitting Member of Parliament, the Hon. Guy Baring was a Lieutenant-Colonel in the 1st Battalion, The Coldstream Guards. He was the son of Alexander Hugh Baring, 4th Baron Ashburton and the Hon. Leonora Caroline Digby.He was twice Mentioned in Despatches and he held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Winchester from 1906 until he was killed in action in France.He is commemorated in Winchester Cathedral.
