Basketball Star is Killed

Great Falls, May 8--Staff Sergeant Michael J. Nolevanko, former Great Falls basketball star, who had been reported as missing in action since July 2, 1943, was killed, the war department advised his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Nolevanko. He lost his life in an airplane crash.

Bomb Group, 9th Air Force, World War II.

Aerial Gunner aboard B-24D Liberator
#42-40205 "The Joker."

Shot down by German Bf-109 fighter, and
crashed near Scorrano, Italy. Three crew
members deployed parachutes, but all ten
crew members were Killed In Action.

The other crew members killed were:

2nd Lt. Alfred L Guenza, Bombardier
