He resided in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on August 8, 1942 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in Packing and also as Single, without dependents.

Frederick was "Killed In Action" along with 8 other crew members when his B-17 was shot down by enemy aircraft and crashed near Rastede, South of Oldenburg, Germany during the war. He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
