Peter served as a Technical Sergeant on B-17 "Stormy Weather" (#42-5225), 323rd Bomber Squadron, 91st Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on August 11, 1941, prior to the war, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was noted as being Single, without dependents.

Peter was "Killed In Action", along with his entire crew, when his plane was shot down while on a mission to Schweinfurt, Germany to bomb a Ball Bearing Plant. He was awarded the Air Medal with One Oak Leaf Cluster and the Purple Heart.
