He resided in Los Angeles County, California prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on March 7, 1941, prior to the war, in Los Angeles, California. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Shipping and receiving clerk and also as Single, without dependents.

Meredith was "Killed In Action" along with 8 other crew members when his B-17 was shot down by enemy aircraft and crashed near Rastede, South of Oldenburg, Germany during the war. He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
