Orville Halpenny has received word that his nephew, Staff Sgt. Harold P. Corey, was killed in a plane crash in Italy March 16. Sgt. Corey had been overseas since July 1942 and was a member of the ground crew of the Black Scorpion Squadron and at the time of the fatal accident was flying from one base to another.
He was the son of Mrs. Harold P. Clark of Vestal, N. Y. Sgt. Corey's father was killed in a plane crash at Rockaway Beach during World War I.
