He resided in Allegany County, Maryland prior to the war.
He enlisted in the Maryland National Guard on February 3, 1941, prior to the war, in Cumberland, Maryland. He was noted as being employed as an Office Clerk and also as Single, without dependents.
He was declared "Missing In Action" during the war and was awarded a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart with one Oak Leaf Cluster.
His remains were recovered and are now buried in a private cemetery in Maryland.
