Donald served as a Staff Sergeant, 578th Bomber Squadron, 392nd Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Allegany County, Maryland prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on February 14, 1944 at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland. He was noted as being employed in the manufacture of miscellaneous products and also as Married.

Donald " Died Of Injuries " during the war and was previously awarded a Air Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters.

Sgt Kight, the Nose Gunner, was thrown clear of the aircraft wreckage during the crash and survived this tragic event for over a month. On 29 May 1945, he succumbed to his injuries as the very last fatality recorded for the 392nd during WWII. Lt Warner's crew also was the last aircrew to perish from a mishap during the war.
