Son of Victor Howard Borsodi Sr. of Vienna, Austria and Lindsley Louise Snodgrass of San Antonio, Texas.



Served as a pilot in the 86th Fighter Squadron of the 79th Fighter Group of the Army Air Force.

During his military carrier he was awarded the Distinguished Fly Cross (x2) and the Air Medal (x16).

He was killed while flying the Army Air Forces new jet fighter, YP-80, during only its second flight after entering service in late 1944 and being delivered to the UK. The YP-80 was grounded for the investigation and was kept from entering service before the war ended. After the war it would later reinter service in July of 1945 and become known as the P80 Shooting star.

Americas highest scoring fighter Ace with 40 kills to his credit, Major Richard I Bong, was later killed during an acceptance flight of the P-80 in California in August 1945 and shared the headlines with the dropping of the Atomic Bomb on Hiroshima.
