Oscar served as a Private, 91st Bomber Squadron, 27th Bomber Group, Light, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Androscoggin County, Maine prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on September 8, 1941, prior to the war, in Portland, Maine. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Office Clerk and also as Single, without dependents.

Oscar "Died While A POW" of the Japanese Army at POW Camp Fukuoka, Kashii Pine Tree Camp 1, Kyushu Island during the war.

He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Prisoner Of War Medals.

His remains were not recovered.
