He was Son of Alfred and Blanche Clarinda Harris, of Solihull, Warwickshire, England

Two of his older brothers were killed in action during WWI ... Lance Corporal Joseph Edgar Harris who was with the Royal Warwickshire Regiment, 1st/5th Bn. and died on July 18, 1916 and Lance Corporal Charles Rudolph Harris with the Coldstream Guards, 2nd Bn. who died on Aug. 27, 1918.

Note:
Details of his death are uncertain but some information indicated that he was killed when parachuting from a plane that was hit by enemy fire and his parachute became entangled with another and he hit the ground too hard.
