Carmen Briscoe Rigby, 45, of Winona, died of a gunshot wound Tuesday, July 16, 1996, at Tardy Furniture Company in Winona.
Mrs. Rigby was a member of Community Baptist Church near Winona. She was the bookkeeper for Tardy Furniture Company.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 19, at First Baptist Church in Winona with Rev. Jimmy Latham officiating assisted by the Rev. Gary Jackson. Burial was in the Vaiden Cemetery.
Mrs. Rigby is survived by her husband, Benny L. Rigby of Winona; two sons, Benjie Rigby and Brian Rigby, both of Winona; her parents, Luther D. and Katherine Briscoe of Vaiden; and one brother, George Briscoe of Slidell, La.
Pallbearers were Bill Mann, Charles Ellis, Kenny DuPont, Lloyd Bailey, Seth Rogers, David Heath, Terry Thomas, and Murray Greenlee.
Honorary pallbearers were brothers and dad of Mrs. Rigby's husband.
Memorial contributions may be made to Community Baptist Church's building fund.
Oliver Funeral Home of Winona was in charge of arrangements.

She was a member of Community Baptist Church.
Mrs. Rigby, the wife of Benny L. Rigby, also leaves two sons, Benjie Rigby and Brian Rigby, both of Winona; her parents, Luther D. Briscoe and Katherine Briscoe of Vaiden; and a brother, George Briscoe of Slidell, La. The family requests that any memorials be sent to the building fund at Community Baptist Church.

Cause of death: Murdered at Tardy Furniture Company in Winona, MS by a disgruntled employee, who was convicted of murder and is now on Death Row at Parchman prison. The four victims were:
Bertha Tardy, Robert Lee Golden, Carmen Briscoe Rigby, and Derrick Everett "Bobo" Stewart.
