An area resident most of his life, the son of the late Vernon and Marion Nelson Tracy.
Following graduation from Jamestown High School in 1944, Fred served in the US Navy from April 1944 until June 1946.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a machinist by MRC-TRW where he worked for 35 years.
He attended Lakewood United Methodist Church and was a member of the Ira Lou Spring Post #149 American Legion and the National Rifle Association. An avid outdoorsman, Fred enjoyed walking in the woods and hunting. He completed many building and remodeling projects in his workshop, and was known for his elaborate birdhouses.
