Genevieve "Jenny" Meek 93, Indianapolis, passed away August 5, 2010. She was born March 28, 1917, in West Mineral, KS, the daughter of William H. and Jennie Thompson Oltmanns. Her parents died in the flu epidemic in January 1919, one day apart. She was then reared by Tom and Maggie Riddle.
She was married to John R. Meek, who preceded her in death in 1988, after 31 years of marriage.
Jenny retired from Eli Lilly in 1975. She was a charter member of Woodland Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling, pottery, and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her second set of parents; one sister, Helen L. Loudermilk; two half sisters, Marguerite Keiter and Syvilla Trigg and a half-brother Sammy Oltmanns, who died shortly before his sixth birthday.
She is survived by two sons, Tom Duke, Carmel; Bob (Sandra) Duke, Trafalgar; five grandchildren, Deborah, Thomas, Jennifer, Paul, and Sarah; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Judith Duke.
