Mrs. Mary R. Gilmore, 83, of LaHarpe, Illinois passed away Monday, August 2, 2010 at 12 :14 P.M. at the VA Hospital in Marion, Illinois.

She was born May 14, 1927 in LaHarpe, the daughter of Silas and Ella Pearl Perry Allen. She was first married to Jack Philbrick. Later she married Curtis Aycock in Peoria, Illinois. On December 16, 1978 she married Ralph Gilmore in LaHarpe. He preceded her in death on March 28, 1985.

She had worked at the Ideal Troy Cleaners in Peoria and later, King - Seeley in Macomb, Illinois. She enjoyed puzzles, sewing, watching Westerns and her pet bird.

Surviving are one daughter, Betty Young of Burlington, Iowa, one son, Curtis Aycock of Carson City, Nevada, 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, one sister, Dora Gooden of Blandinsville, Illinois , several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews and her good friend, Ruthie Sarley of LaHarpe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, 3 sisters and 3 brothers.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 7, 2010 at the LaHarpe Cemetery with Dan Dingus officiating. The family will meet with friends on Saturday from noon until 1:45 P.M. at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe. A memorial fund has been established for the LaHarpe Ambulance Service and the LaHarpe Fire Department.
