Elfriede, my beautiful Mom, passed suddenly on July 21st, 2010. She lived in San Bernardino County and passed in Torrance, CA, while at the Alpine Village Restaurant with friends.

Elfriede was born and raised in Augsburg, Germany. In 1957, she immigrated to the United States and started a new life in Monterey, CA. Elfriede's first job in 1957, was at the historical Bear Flag Restaurant located within the historic Cannery Row in Monterey CA - (http://www.ginisology.com/2010/11/100th-cog-edition-theres-one-in-every.html).

When her job ended at the Bear Flag Restaurant, we moved from Monterey, CA to San Jose, CA, that's when mom started her long career at the Montgomery Wards store on 1st Street in San Jose. She started out as a sales girl in the Woman's Fashion Dept. Later, she was transferred to the San Jose downtown store and went on to be the first woman to become a District Merchandise Manager in the history of Montgomery Wards. She continued to climb the ladder to a Corporate Regional Executive Manager's position and was very successful up until her retirement 35 years later. Elfriede leaves behind many close friends and co-workers from her career at Montgomery Wards.

She is survived by her daughter, Virginia 'Gini' Webb, son-in-law Steve Webb and granddaughter, Lacie, great-granddaughter Emma, and great-grandson Ethan, her niece, Marion Haf Markou and sister-in-law, Gitta Haf and cousin, Inge Kaiser Kaps.

In death, she is reunited with her mom, Liselotte Haf née Kaiser-Saule (1913-2010), her twin brothers, Helmut (1940-1994) and Adalbert (1940-2004) Haf and her father, Adalbert Haf (1907-1968).

She is deeply missed, loved eternally and her memory is kept alive each and everyday.
