Mary Ann's mother was Elizabeth A. Kitson Bagley, who died on arrival in the Canada in 1851-burial location unknown at this time.

Mary Ann married Hugh Potter in abt 1860 in Canada and their first 4 children were born there. They moved to Detroit, Wayne, Michigan after 1864 and show up in the 1870 census. The next 8 children were born in Detroit.

1870 Census: Residence: Detroit ward 10, Wayne, MI, Hugh 38, Mary 28y; Rachel 10y; John 10y; Mary 6y & William 3y..

1880 Census: Detroit, Wayne, Michigan: Hugh 48y-Teamster; Mary 42y; Rachel 20y; John 18y; Maria 16y; William 11y; Maggie 11y; Hugh 5y; Samuel 3y & Anna 1y.

1900 Census: Detroit ward 11, Wayne, Michigan: Mary Ann 60y-widowed-mother of 12 children, 10 living at time of census; Hugh Jr 25y; Samuel 23y; Arthur 19y; Mabel 16y & a boarder.

1910 Census: Detroit Ward 9, Wayne, Michigan: Mary Ann 74y; Samuel 36y; Arthur 28y & Ellsworth 68y-roomer.

Death certificate states she was widowed, living at gives address of 476 Shene St. Detroit, was 74y 6m 2d old when died and birth date was 8 Dec 1837, but family has birth records that state otherwise.

So Hugh died at some point between 1880 & 1900-unable to locate death record or burial location.
