"Arrived in Nacogdoches county on Christmas Day 1836 from Madison County, Tennessee...Soon after their arrival...William and James Jacobs...bought at a sheriff sale a tract of land called the "Piedras Tract" that lay between the Carrizo and Puentezuellas Creeks. Piedras was the last Mexican governor of the Nacogdoches District...his lands were seized and sold...The (families from Tennessee) settled on the land between the Carrizo and Puentezuellas." Son of William Jacobs and Nancy Isabelle Coleman Jacobs. Married Mary C. Chisum 22 Nov 1827 in Madison County, Tennessee. Moved to Texas from Mississippi about 1838. Father of 12 children (see Mary Chisum Jacobs' memorial for names). Died in Woden.
