She was born on June 30, 1910 in Groveton, Texas, the daughter of J.R. Jordan and Pearl Sullivan Jordan.
After a short while, she and her family moved to Nacogdoches County where she would spend the rest of her life.
She was blessed with 100 years and saw many magnificent changes from the time she was a small child until the world of technology we live in today. Her passion was her family and one of her greatest joys was to make sure they were all fed, because she was a wonderful cook. She did spend over 25 years also working and retiring from Burgess Poultry. She was Baptist by faith and was a longtime member at Gravel Ridge Baptist Church.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2010, at 10am at Alazan Cemetery with Reverend Jack Lee officiating.
Mrs. Barrett is survived by her grandson, Gary Johnson and his wife Marvis, granddaughter: Martha Whitworth and her husband Steve, 4 great-grandchilden, Kim Johnson Jackson, Chester Johnson and his wife Korey, Scott Whitworth and his wife Lindsey and Haley Whitworth, 4 great-great-grandchildren, Emry Johnson of Nacogdoches, Cash Jackson of Nacogdoches, Kolby Johnson, Abby Whitworth and two great-great-grandchildren will arrive this year.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Miller Barrett, her daughter, Robbie Johnson and by six brothers and sisters.
