BUCKLIN — Bucklin resident Evain E. Brune, 85, died Saturday, June 26, 2010,
at Via Christi-St. Francis in Wichita of injuries sustained in a vehicle accident near Kingman.
He was born Nov. 10, 1924, at Optima, Okla., to Oscar W. and Lydia Ruth (Gebhard) Brune. He married Minnie Scott on May 31, 1949, at Guymon, Okla. She survives.
Evain served in the U.S. Army. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in Germany, and the Korean conflict. He worked as a county Extension agent for soil conservation until retiring.
Other survivors include two brothers, Marcus Brune, Guymon, Okla., and Dall Brune, Ridgecrest, Calif.; and three sisters, LaRue Kiser, Liberal, Phyllis Cripsen, Claremore, Okla., and Carolyn Blair, Tishamingo, Okla.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Chapel, Liberal, with Pastor Randall Janhke officiating. Interment will be in the Liberal Cemetery with military honors.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Miller Mortuary, Liberal.
The family suggests memorials to Hilltop Nursing Home in care of Miller Mortuary, 908 N. Lincoln Ave., Liberal, KS 67901-2649.
