Ermalene Beam, 91, of Springfield, formerly of Peoria, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born in Pekin, on June 18, 1919, to William and Emma (Freidinger) Bishop. She married Henry C. Beam on June 18, 1942, in Groveland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, on Sept. 1, 1979; her parents; and several brothers and sisters.
Ermalene was formerly employed as a bookkeeper for the Brass Foundry and Bruce Terminex. She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, Daughters of the American Revolution and King's Daughters.
She is survived by a son, Curtis (Elaine) Beam of Warrensburg; two daughters, Barbara Beam of Springfield and Marsha (Galen) Johnson of Pawnee; three grandchildren, Todd Johnson, Amy Boblitt and Jennifer Robinson; three great-grandchildren, Griffin and Adalyn Boblitt and Brylie Robinson; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of a funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2010, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Dan Dexter officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
