Philip Meisner 1940 Bridgewater Bulletin

The sudden passing of one of Lake Centre's most respected citizens, in the person of Philip Meisner, at the age of seventy years, has cast a deep gloom over the community. He passed away peacefully at his home, on July 5th., at 5 o'clock, a.m.

Deceased had been in failing health for several years, being a great sufferer for the past four months, which he endured with great patience. He leaves to mourn their loss a sorrowing wife and family. He has left a vacant seat which never can be filled, and he will be greatly missed by his loved ones and all who knew him. He was a member of the Lutheran Church. The funeral which was largely attended, was held at his home on Sunday, where he spent many peaceful years. Rev. Douglas Conrad, assisted by Kenneth Allaby, performed the last rites. The remains were laid to rest in the shadow of the Church of the Ascension.

With thanks to Rosemary Rafuse.
