WESTLAKE — Rose M. Henry (nee: Medaglia), 88, passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at her home.
Rose was born on July 23, 1922 in Lorain, OH to her parents, John and Anna M. (nee:Greco) Medaglia.
Rose graduated from Lorain High School in 1942 and attended several universities taking numerous business classes. She returned to Lorain and worked for Sears, Roebuck & Co. starting as a secretary and working her way to the top, supervising 12 departments. She worked for St. Joseph Hospital as an X-Ray Technician, St. Luke's Hospital as supervisor of accounting, Huron, Erie and Lorain Metropolitan Housing Authority as a financial director retiring in 1992 after 25 years of service. She moved to Westlake in 1974.
She was a member of St. Peter's Church, Lorain; St. Ladislas, Westlake; International Women's Club; Commander and life-long member of DAV Auxiliary, Lorain Chapter; St. John's Cathedral Choir in Cleveland; National Council of Catholic Women; Lorain Business Women's Club and Third Order of St. Francis. Rose spent many years traveling and enjoyed spending much of her time volunteering for senior citizen organizations.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Donald E. Henry of Westlake; sister, A. S. Imbrogno of Lorain; niece, C. (M.) Williamson of Athens, Ga. and P. (D.) Murphy; and nephew, L. (G.) Imbrogno of Bena, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna Medaglia; brother, Frank Medaglia; and her infant sister, Eleanor Medaglia.
