My Grandma Jessie was a sweet lady who lived a life quite different than our world today. When she was a young girl, she came to California by train. Can you imagine as a child hearing cars coming down what is now Highway 99 and running to the roadside just to watch these contraptions drive by?
Life in those days was about farming and my grandma spent most of her life farming in and near Turlock. She raised 2 boys and 3 step-children. In her later years, when I was but a baby, she married Otto Becker, the man I always knew as "Grandpa". He was much older than Jessie, but they had such a wonderful life together, traveling to Europe, Hawaii and many other places. I'm thankful that he lived to be 96 years old and that they had many happy years together.
We love you and miss you, Grandma.
