OBITUARY:
Edwin J. Hufford, 2202 N. W. Johnson Street, died in Portland Thursday. Born at Toledo, Oregon, on May 21, 1878, he came to Portland 45 years ago. He was employed for many years by the First National Bank and later by the Ladd and Reed Institute and the Willamette Iron and Steel Corporation.
A graduate of Oregon State College, Mr. Reed was a member of Portland Lodge No. 55, AF & AM, the Scottish Rite, and Al Kader Shrine. He was named patron three times of the West Gate chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. HE also was a member of Royal Arcanum and the Trinity Episcopal Church.
Survivors include the widow, Julia Berg Hufford; a brother, Walter; and a sister, Mrs. Bessie Lahman. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Lansing Kempton at the Edward Holman & Son Chapel, with burial at Rose City Cemetery.
