Funeral services for James L. Primm, a former sheriff of Knox County, who died early last Thursday morning at his home a half mile west of LaBelle at the age of 67, were Saturday. Mrs. Primm being, ill, a short service was held at 10 o'clock at the home, where they had recently moved, followed at noon by services in the Christian Church at Millport by the Rev. S. E. Botsford of Edina. Burial was in Millport cemetery, where are buried Mr. Primm's two sons, James Ernest and Lester, and his brother, Thomas E. Primm, who died a year ago in February.

James L. Primm was born at the old Primm homestead about four miles northeast of Edina May 24, 1861, the osn of Rufus and Angeline Primm. He married Matilda Elizabeth Carder of Colony township in July, 1889, and to them three sons were born, the two who are dead, and Frank B. Primm, who lived near his father's home.

Besides the widow and son, Mr. Primm is survived by two grandchildren, James Neal and Shirley Catherine Primm, children of the living son, and a sister, Mrs. N. A. Cunningham, of Rutledge, and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was elected to the office of sheriff on Knox County in 1916 and served in that capacity one term. And about six years ago Mr. Primm was county highway engineer. For the most part of his life his occupation had been that of a farmer, although he had lived in Edina for some years both before and after he was elected to office. He was a member of the Christian Church.
