Thomas Carr was married to Milcah Bell Merryman (1786-1849) of Baltimore, the daughter of Benjamin Merryman (1739-1814) and Mary Bell (1747-1822). Thomas Carr and his family later settled in Philadelphia.
Thomas Carr's brother was Benjamin Carr (1768-1831) who was a famous music composer and was called the father music of Philadelphia.

The Monument Cemetery now belongs to Temple University. The contents of the grave have been removed to Lawnview Cemetery, Rockledge. The Carr lot, Broadlawn, Section 36, Grave 17-20. A marked only with a small flat bronze plate bearing the letter "C".
