OSAGE, IOWA - Roy Funk, 62, retired farmer, suffered a fatal heart attack Monday afternoon at the Masonic Hall in Osage. He and other Masons were preparing for the last rites of a fellow lodge member, William R. Haines.
Funeral services are pending at the Champion Funeral Home.
Mr. Funk was born at Fenton, the son of Conrad and Anna Funk. He came to Mitchell County in 1908. He was married to Mabel Olson on June 22, 1921. They lived on their farm until moving to Osage recently. He was a member of the First Congregational Church and the Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Keith Morse, Mason City; two sons, Keith, Austin, and Lavern, Osage; six grandchildren; his stepmother, Mrs. C. C. Funk, Brandon, and a sister, Mrs. Walter Cordes, Mitchell.
