Ralph L. BURROUGHS, 71, Argos, died Monday of a heart attack in Loogootee while on a fishing trip with his wife and friends.

Mr. Burroughs was born Aug. 30, 1906, to David and Susie MARKLEY BURROUGHS in Marshall county. He was married on April 23, 1930, to Lavona CHAPMAN in Plymouth; she survives. He was a lifetime farmer and milk hauler and member of the Walnut Church of the Brethren.

Surviving with the wife are two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Wilma) HARDING, St. Joe, and Mrs. Allen (Elizabeth Ann) GRAF, Lakeville; a son, Russell [BURROUGHS], Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren, and three brothers, Elgie [BURROUGHS], Burr Oak; Ray B. [BURROUGHS], Argos, and Otto B. [BURROUGHS], Florida. Two brothers, a sister and a grandchild preceded in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Walnut Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Willy BOSSERMAN officiating. Burial will be at the Walnut Brethren cemetery. Friends may call at the Grossman funeral home, Argos, after 4 p.m. Thursday, and until 11 a.m. Friday and at the church one hour prior to the services.
