Robert D. Nelson was born to Walter and Lillian (Vincent) Nelson in Superior, WI. He was a trainmaster for the Great Northern Railway Co. He was also a veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Unitarian Fellowship, Elks Lodge, The Railroad Superintendents Association and the American Legion. He was married to Vernette Aurdelle Holt (11/14/29 - 04/12/2001) on July 21, 1950 Together they raised three children. Robert Thomas dob (7/25/52), Victoria Christine dob (9/18/58) (Adopted: birthname Jane Colvin/Asrouch), and Laurie Ann dob ( 9/30/62).
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kathryn.
The ashes of Robert's wife, Vernette Holt Nelson, were interred in her husband's grave on July 10, 2001, in a private family ceremony. Vernette's life is also profiled at Findagrave.com
