Fred Elsworth Starr, 72, 1002 28th St., died at his home this morning at 9:20 a.m. following an extended illness.
He was born June 7, 1885 in Wood County a son of the late Richard and Louise Headley Starr and had lived in this area most of his life.
He was a painter by occupation and a member of the First EUB Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Starr; three sons, Bernard of Parkersburg, Forrest of Columbus, O., and Albert Starr of Charleston; five step-children, Glenn Feick, Washington State, Harold and Clarence Feick, both of Akron, Mrs. Fred Shields, and Mrs. Anna Dowler, both of Parkersburg; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Bell Perry, Columbus, O., and Mrs. Vallie Seckman, of Parkersburg; 17 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. A son, Paul Starr, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday from the Leavitt Funeral Home with the Rev. James Moellendick officiating, assisted by the Rev. Joe Zeigler. Burial will be in the Arlington Memorial Gardens.
