Will Audit Books of Glens Falls Every Year
Glens Falls--Mayor Edward Reed has announced that hereafer the municipal books will be audited every year.
At a meeting of the common council the question of appointing a successor to City Chamberlain 'Sterling F. Higley, who committed suicide was deferred. Councilman Wesley G. Brayton insisted that the chamberlain's bond should be for %50,000 in stead of $25,000, but the board decided to continue it at the present figure.
The funeral of Mr. Higley took place at the home, 13 Lincloln avenue, and in accordance with a request in a note he left in his office before ending his life, the funeral was private. The Rev. Oliver Shaw Newell conducted the service and burial was in Pine View Cemetery.

Glens Falls--Unable to meet shortage of $12,000 or more discovered in is accounts as City Chamberlain of Glens Falls, Sterling F. Higley committed suicide in the vault of his office on the main floor of City Hall by shooting himself in the head.
Higley in a note directed that his brother, H. H. Higley, President of the First nation Bank of Norwich, N.Y., be notified and that his funeral be private, with no flowers. Examiners have been making a search of the records of the office for some time.
