According to the Samuel Ethan Graham Family Bible (copyrighted 1822, now in possession of Samuel Alan Graham, IV of Chesterfield, VA), Samuel E. Graham was born October 9, 1801, and died June 26, 1869; and records his first wife, Martha M. [Mary Martha] Barrineau having been born March 9, 1807, and died October 9, 1848. They were married January 24, 1828, and both buried in Frierson's Graveyard (Cemetery), Salters, Williamsburg County, SC. They had the following children:
1. William A. [most likely named William Aaron for paternal (William Graham) and maternal (Aaron Frierson) grandfathers' first names] Graham, born April 8, 1829, and died June 12, 1830 [burial site unknown, perhaps either Indiantown Presbyterian Church or Frierson's Graveyard]
2. Isaac W. Graham, born July 10, 1831 [Bible does not give death date of Nov. 30, 1922; buried in Frierson's Graveyard, Salters, SC]
3. Susannah Theodotia (sic) [often spelled Theodosia] Graham, born December 24, 1833, and died May 21, 1862 [buried Indiantown Presbyterian Churchyard, Williamsburg Co, SC]
4. Martha Jane Graham, born November 6, 1836 [Bible does not give death date of Nov. 1, 1914; buried New Market Cemetery, Greeleyville, Williamsburg County, SC]
5. Mary Emma Graham, born December 18, 1838 [Bible does not give death date of Sept. 18, 1892; buried Indiantown Presbyterian Churchyard]
6, Samuel Elijah Graham, born December 21, 1841, died November 22, 1848 [buried Frierson's Graveyard, Salters, Williamsburg County, SC]
7. Ann Louisa Graham, born February 28, 1848, died October 29, 1848 [buried Frierson's Graveyard, Salters, Williamsburg County, SC]

Also, there is recorded the marriage of Samuel E. Graham and Ester [Esther or Hester] J. [Jane] Lifrage [born May 2, 1820, died October 13, 1913; buried Union Presbyterian Churchyard, Salters, Williamsburg County, SC] on May 24, 1849, with the following children:
8. John J. [James] Graham, born July 21, 1852 [Bible does not give death date of Feb. 1, 1911; buried Williamsburg Presbyterian Cemetery, Kingstree, Williamsburg County, SC]
9. Ellen Theodora Graham, born December 21, 1855 [Bible does not give death date of Aug. 31, 1897; buried Union Presbyterian Churchyard, Salters, Williamsburg County, SC]

There is no mention of a John William Graham (1823-1895) of Horry County in the Samuel Ethan Graham Bible record. Samuel Ethan Graham was not married at the time of John William Graham's birth. All of Samuel Ethan Graham's children were born, reared, died, and buried in Williamsburg County, SC. If I am not mistaken, I believe this John William Graham was the eldest son of Joseph Graham (April 28, 1781 - 2 November 1848) and his wife Mary ? Graham of Horry County, SC. Joseph Graham was a son of Gilbert Graham (ca. 1750 -
