Graveside services will be held Monday, October 30, 2006 at 1 p.m. in the Greenwood Memorial Park Cemetery for Mrs. Eugenia Duke, 93, the former Eugenia Payne, who passed away at 3 a.m. Sunday, October 29, 2006 at the St. Martin Hospital in Breaux Bridge.

Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Pineville, Louisiana. Reverend Johnny Phillips will conduct the graveside services.

Survivors include a daughter, Anne Duke Banker of Gonzales, Louisiana; three sons, Justin Payne Duke of Orange Beach, Alabama, J.C. Lindell Duke, Jr. and his wife, Pam, Ken Kerrell Duke and his wife, Lauri, all of Lafayette; nine grandchildren; eight-great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Pate and a special family member, Janis Duke.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Lindell Duke, Sr.; her son, Terry Duke; her parents, Jesse Payne and the former, Lula Bell; a grandson, Jesse Payne Duke and one brother, Wendell Payne.

A native of Urania, Louisiana and a resident of Breaux Bridge for the past three years, Mrs. Duke resided in Good Pine, Louisiana for most of her life. She was a faithful parishioner of the First Baptist Church in Good Pine, Louisiana. Mrs. Duke loved dancing, entertaining her family and many friends and also loved traveling. She was truly a wonderful loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to all and will be sadly missed.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed Monday from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette.

Mrs. Duke's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. J. Khorsandi, the St. Agnes Nursing Home and also St. Martin Hospital Staff for the compassion and excellent care given to their loved one in her greatest time of need.

Pallbearers are Justin Payne Duke, J.C. Lindell Duke, Jr., Ken Kerrell Duke, Todd Duke, Jlin Duke, Jonathan Duke and Kevin Jones.

Honorary pallbearer will be Dylan Duck.
